This beautiful observation facility is located at the top of the popular tourist spot “Nihondaira” and offers a 360-degree panoramic view from the 3rd floor of the building and the observation deck.
Fuji and Suruga Bay, as well as the Izu Peninsula and the Southern Alps.
On the first floor of the building, there is a corner introducing the history and topography of Nihondaira, and the second floor can be used as a cafe.
Nihondaira Yume Terrace was designed by Kengo Kuma, one of Japan’s leading architects. The building is made with abundant use of timber from Shizuoka Prefecture, and is in harmony with the natural landscape with a view of Mt.
Visitors can enjoy the view while taking in the vista and the pleasant atmosphere.
Scenic Spot Nihondaira
Nihon-daira, ranked first among the 100 best sightseeing spots in Japan, is a place where visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji, Shimizu Port, the Izu Peninsula, and the Southern Alps seen over the tea plantation.
The Nihondaira Parkway (Shizuoka City Road Ikeda Nihondaira Line), an access road to the summit, also offers wonderful views from the car windows.
The area also offers a variety of attractions such as ume (plum) orchards, cherry blossoms, and historical spots.
The Nihondaira Ropeway also allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of Suruga Bay and the seasonal scenery of Byoubudani.
The cityscape of Shimizu Ward and Shimizu Port spread out below you, and you can also enjoy the beautiful night view, which has been recognized as a “Japan Night View Heritage”.
1F Exhibition Space Attraction
The history of Nihondaira is vividly introduced on graphic panels, as if it were a picture scroll based on myths and legends.
In addition, visitors can enjoy learning about the history and origins of Nihondaira by using projection mapping to explain how the topography of Nihondaira was formed and touch panels to introduce tourist spots around Nihondaira.
2F Lounge Comfort and Hospitality
In this lounge, you can enjoy seasonal teas and tea sweets while admiring the beautiful scenery. You can spend a relaxing time in a comfortable space.
3F Observation Floor: Views in all directions
The glass-walled observation floor offers spectacular views in all directions. Even if you cannot see Mt. Fuji, you can view beautiful images of Mt.
You can also experience the space of traditional Japanese architecture.
Garden
The approximately 1,200 m2 garden is filled with seasonal flowers, adding to the charm of the facility.
Observation corridor
The observation corridor on the observation deck extends approximately 200 meters, offering a 360-degree view of Mount Fuji, Miho Matsubara, Suruga Bay, and Shizuoka City.
