Shirahama Coast

This is an extraordinary resort spot, with pure white sandy beaches that reflect the emerald green sea, and luxurious accommodations scattered throughout the area.

This coast is divided into north and south by Shirahama Shrine, with the north side called Central Beach and the south side called Shirahama Ohama.

The central beach on the north side has not only sandy beaches but also rocky beaches and coves, and is popular with families because of its quiet waves.

It has been selected as one of the 88 best bathing beaches in Japan and one of the 100 best bathing beaches in Japan by the Ministry of the Environment. On a clear day, the islands of the Izu Islands can be seen.

On the other hand, Shirahama Ohama Beach on the south side is the largest beach on the Izu Peninsula, visited by bathers and surfers from all over Japan.

The beach stretches for about 800 meters, and the beautiful white sand and clear ocean tones are exquisite. It is known as one of the most popular beaches in Izu with a lively, young crowd.
