On the third Saturday of July, a festival of the sea is held, and events such as a fireworks display are also held.
In the center of Shirahama Ohama Beach stands the Kitahara Hakushu Poem Monument, inscribed with a poem that Kitahara Hakushu composed when he visited the beach.
