Shirahama Ohama Beach

The largest and most popular beach on the Izu Peninsula

It is said to be the most beautiful beach on the Izu Peninsula, with its white sandy beach and clear emerald green ocean creating a stunning landscape of exquisite colors.

The spacious white sand beach stretches 800 meters from north to south, and is the largest beach on the Izu Peninsula.

It is popular among young people for marine sports such as surfing and windsurfing. Surfing is prohibited in the swimming area during the bathing season.

It is one of the most popular spots on the Izu Peninsula and is crowded with many people during the season.

On the third Saturday of July, a festival of the sea is held, and events such as a fireworks display are also held.

In the center of Shirahama Ohama Beach stands the Kitahara Hakushu Poem Monument, inscribed with a poem that Kitahara Hakushu composed when he visited the beach.
