Roadside Station Asagiri Kogen

This roadside station on National Route 139 is located in the Asagiri Plateau, which stretches at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The idyllic image of the cowshed-style design on the exterior of the station is eye-catching and pastoral.

This roadside station is known as a stopover for tourists during their drive around Mt. Fuji, and the view of Mt. Fuji from there has been selected as one of the “100 Sceneries with Mt. Fuji” published by the Ministry of the Environment.

The facility has a store, a local vegetable stand, an ice cream factory using milk from Asagiri Dairy, and a cafeteria that focuses on homemade products, and the adjacent Asagiri Food Park is also located here.

As dairy and livestock farming thrives in the area thanks to the shining green meadows and snow-melt water from Mt. Fuji, a wide variety of dairy products including milk, cheese, butter, ham, and ice cream are also popular.

The taste of local specialties and other products is exceptional when eaten while gazing at Mt.

The Michi-no-Eki station on National Route 139 is an integrated facility, with the Chubu Regional Development Bureau maintaining the road facilities and Fujinomiya City maintaining the regional development facilities.

It also has a heliport and stockpile warehouse on its 36,000-square-meter site, and has been selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism as a “disaster prevention roadside station” as a disaster support and disaster prevention center (at the time of its selection, the only one in Shizuoka Prefecture).

In the TV anime “Yuru Can△” (SEASON 1) broadcast in 2018, “Roadside Station Asagiri Kogen” with the same name appeared in the third episode.
